How Care Works

From your first booking to ongoing care

A simple, supportive process designed around you.

01

Initial evaluation

A 60-minute first visit. Your history, current symptoms, and what you're hoping for from care — heard out, written down, and turned into a plan.

02

Personalized plan

Together you and your provider decide what comes next: medication, therapy, both, or a referral if a different specialist is the better fit.

03

Ongoing care

Follow-ups every few weeks early on, then less often once you're stable. Adjustments happen out loud — nothing is set-and-forget.

Services FAQ

Common questions about our services

How services fit together, what to start with, and how they're billed.

Can I do medication management and psychotherapy at the same time?

Yes — and many patients do. Combining medication with therapy typically produces better outcomes than either alone for moderate to severe anxiety, depression, and trauma-related conditions. Because Rebecca provides both, you don't have to coordinate between separate providers.

What if I'm not sure which service I need?

Start with a psychiatric evaluation. The first visit is designed to understand what you're experiencing and recommend a path forward — that may be medication, therapy, both, or a referral to a specialist better suited to your needs. You don't need to self-diagnose to book.

Do I have to start with an evaluation?

Yes — every new patient begins with a psychiatric evaluation so we have a complete picture before prescribing or starting therapy. Existing patients can move between medication and therapy without a fresh evaluation, since the clinical history is already on file.

How often will I have appointments?

The initial evaluation is a single 60-minute visit. Medication follow-ups are typically every 4–6 weeks early on, then every 8–12 weeks once you're stable. Psychotherapy is usually weekly or biweekly, depending on what you and your provider decide is the right pace.

Are all services covered by my insurance?

Stillwell Psychiatry is in-network with most major carriers — Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare — plus more than 200 additional plans through Zocdoc. Coverage details vary by plan, so Zocdoc verifies your specific benefits during booking and shows your expected copay before you confirm.

Can I switch providers or services later?

Yes. You can adjust your care plan at any visit — adding therapy to a medication-only plan, stepping back to medication management once therapy goals are met, or pausing care entirely. The plan is yours, and it's built to adapt.
